Program Overview

100 Women Charitable Foundation, Inc. is an organization of women dedicated to serving the community by collectively funding charitable initiatives on an annual basis. It is our goal each year to provide high-impact grants that raise the profile of deserving but lesser-known organizations, and that highlight some of the unmet needs in our community.

Grant funds come from member contributions, and each year members vote to select the projects for funding. Our grant funding cycle runs from March 15 to March 1st of each calendar year. During this time, we collect money from our members, solicit and evaluate dozens of grant proposals and award grants.

100 WCF grants are awarded each year to charitable organizations in the Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties of the San Francisco Bay Area. Each year grant proposals are solicited by 100 Women Charitable Foundation Members for programs or projects that serve three focus areas: Education, Family and Health & Wellness. Members of 100 Women Charitable Foundation serve on the focus area committees to evaluate the grant proposals. Each of the three focus area committees select two finalists as grant finalist candidates. Then, in early March the entire 100 Women Charitable Foundation membership has the opportunity to vote for committee finalists. The finalist with the greatest amount of support will receive our grant funding for the year.

Our Grant Giving Philosophy

It is 100 Women Charitable Foundation's desire to fund programs and projects that seek innovative ways to solve social problems within our community. We believe that every member of our community should have access to family care services, quality education and adequate healthcare. We encourage any member-nominated nonprofits in the Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties that serve this geographic area in one of our three focus areas (Family, Education or Health & Wellness) to apply.

100 Women Charitable Foundation seeks to fund projects that:

• have a long-term positive affect on our community;
• reach a significant number of people, either directly or indirectly;
• benefit an undeserved population within our community;
• are new programs or expansions of existing programs and,
• have a minimum total budget of at least $100,000.
