While every gift to a non-profit is beneficial, the collective effect of 100 Women Charitable Foundation is truly life-changing.  Each year our many smaller, individual gifts combine to become a few large gifts, thus creating The 100 Women Charitable Foundation's ability to make substantial sized grants available to non-profit organizations that would otherwise not have access to this level of funding.

Each year, 100 WCF donates at least three substantial size financial grants to worthy non-profit organizations within the Santa Clara and San Mateo County region. The number and amount of grants given are determined each year by the number of women who join 100 Women Charitable Foundation as members. The more members we have, combined with each member giving more, determines the amount of grants we can give.

By joining 100 Women Charitable Foundation, your annual membership contribution provides a direct and immediate benefit to our community as 100% of your donation is given away each year as part of our collective pool of grants.

Become a Member

The 100 Women Charitable Foundation is aimed at the compassionate woman with a good heart, whose desire it is to reach beyond the charity fundraiser concept. One of the benefits of being a 100 WCF member is that you can participate as much, or as little as you choose. Involvement can be as easy as making a financial donation and voting each year, or many of our members choose to be more involved by participating in the grant review and evaluation process.

Members can join 100 WCF at any time throughout the year. Those joining between January 1st through December 31 of each year are considered a voting member for that calendar year, and are eligible to vote for grant finalists at our Annual Membership Dinner and Grant Award Vote held in March of the following year. 

Benefits of Becoming a Member: When you become a member of the 100 Women Charitable Foundation you have the opportunity to learn more about the various needs that exist within our community.

As qualified non-profit organizations apply for grant funding, the foundation works together, through our committee process to research non-profit organizations and projects that provide services and resources which make a substantial difference in our community in the areas of family, education and health & wellness.

For most of us, large scale donations may be in our hearts, but is beyond our individual means, so collectively, we can make these types of large-scale awards a reality. (If you contribute between January through December 2010, you are eligible to vote at our March 2011 Dinner. If you join after December 31, 2011 you will not be eligible to vote until March 2012.)

Become a 'Friend of 100 Women'

One of the primary goals of 100 Women Charitable Foundation is to ensure that 100% of membership donations go directly toward the annual grants we provide. In order to achieve this goal, we accept donations from individuals and local businesses to our 'Friends of 100 Women' administrative fund to help underwrite the foundation's overhead expenses.

We graciously accept monetary or in-kind donations made to 'Friends of 100 Women' to help offset the foundation's needs, and helps cover overhead expenses related to the infrastructure of the organization - i.e. audit, insurance, website hosting, etc.

Just as with the Members' donations, 100% of all Friends contributions are also tax-deductible. In appreciation of our Friends' contributions, we list all Friends who contribute either monetarily or in-kind,on our website, at the annual meeting, as well as verbally at many of our meetings and recruitment events.

Would You Like to Double Your Contribution to 100 Women Charitable Foundation?

Double your gift with a Corporate Match. Many companies will match your contribution dollar for dollar. It’s a simple and easy process and it raises thousands of dollars for the Foundation.

To generate a matching grant, check with your company to see if they have a corporate matching gift program. If they do, the next step is to apply for the matching gift. This can be done by either filling out a paper form or on-line form, both available through your Human Resource Department. When filling out the application, please enter 100 Women Charitable Foundation as your organization name. If using a paper form, complete the employee section. If you don’t see your employer on the list, please ask your Human Resources Department whether your company participates. Apply for a matching gift with your employer soon. Some companies have 90 day application periods.
